Mouth and Foot Painting Artists

How to join

The Mouth and Foot Painting Artists is always looking for new, British artists, be they already painting to a good standard, or seeking to develop their artistic skills. Any potential candidates wishing to join our group must though, as our name suggests, be unable to use their hands when they paint because of their impairments or medical conditions.

All applications matching up to this important criterion would then be reviewed by the organisation to establish suitability for joining the association and the level of financial support they would be prepared to provide to develop the artist.

‘I had no real contact with painting before the accident, but I had to radically reassess my options for the future given my resulting disability. Although painting was something I had never done before, it was at least possible to do it from the wheelchair. So what started out as an enjoyable therapeutic activity became a potential career for me when I was introduced to the MFPA. The help and financial support they gave me to develop my art was fantastic and not only brought a new purpose to my life, but has since then provided me with a means of financially supporting myself without being a burden to others.’

Trevor Wells, mouth painter

Many disabled member artists of the MFPA have found the opportunities provided by the organisation have enabled them to achieve beyond their wildest dreams. One such person is Trevor Wells, a leading British mouth painting artist who became a quadriplegic following a rugby accident.
