It is with great sadness that we report the passing of author, Marc Alexander
It is with great sadness that we report the passing of author, Marc Alexander, who died in January 2020 at 90 years of age.
Marc, who was born in New Zealand, was originally a school teacher who majored in art. He then came to the UK where he became a journalist before turning his hand to writing books and travelled extensively to obtain material for his work. He subsequently had over 60 of his books published, both non-fiction and novels.
Part of this repertoire embraced books he wrote about the Mouth and Foot Painting Artists and the people behind the paintings. These included titles such as Art For Life, Canvases of Courage and Artists Above All. Marc felt well placed to write about the artists not only because of his artistic background but also because in childhood, in New Zealand, he was himself immobilized for a long period, which helped him to appreciate the enormous effort it takes for the MFPA artists to produce their work.
We pass our condolences to his family.
He will be sadly missed.
